I am thinking of tracing my mother’s ancestry for her birthday, but there is one hitch: her grandparents were Greek refugees from Asia Minor, and didn’t even know their own exact birthdays. There are obituaries and other documents in the US, and we know the village they were from and moved to, but I don’t know if it is possible to trace anything through them to Greece or present day Turkey, and am wondering if anyone has had experience with this. How much is it to hire a professional? Is there some chance I could figure this out or is everything lost forever?

I have reason to believe that one of my ancestors might be full-blood cherokee. I heard that if they are I can get a grant for college. The only problem is that I only know back to the names of my great-great-grandparents, and I can’t find any information on them.

I need an easy program that simply allows me to insert the names of my family members, to create a family tree. Has to be able to start with my great grandparents. I am unable to work my powerpoint template, because the boxes just go all over the place, when I add additional boxes. I need this for a school project and I have searched google, but I have not found a viable site.

I want to make a family tree for my son, but am stuck trying to figure out how to add in his step grandparents. Not to mention my step parents family. How do you add them to a Family Tree? If you have a sample or template that would be helpful also.

the only problem is that i only know both my parents names, date of birth, and birthplace and marriage stuff like that. i don’t know all the information on my grandparents. is there a free website where i could find my ancestors with this information?

i’ve already entered my name and info, my parents’ names and info, but i’m really not getting anywhere…

It’s for a French Project. We have to create a family tree with grandparents, two children, atleast one cousin, aunt/uncle, and the parents. My teacher suggested Family Guy, or the Simpsons, but like 80% of my class are doing one of those. Any other ideas?
