I wanted to know if there were anyone else who knows their related to him and how they are. When I looked it up in other sources people thought there were no descendants of him at all that were alive today (which I know is not true). So if his child had children why would no one know were that family tree led? Benjamin Franklin is my 9th great grandfather and it would be nice to know other people that are also in my family tree from him.

I would really like to find out about my great grandfather and great grandmother. All I know are their names — Stanley Ernest Deatker and Jamuna Deatker. I know this is probably near impossible.. In India there aren’t very good birth records from that time i.e. around 1900s. If you have any good sites on Anglo-indian family history and genealogy or if you know anything about the surname Deatker please share.. Thank you =)

I found out thought my family ancestry that King John Plantagenet (younger brother of Richard the Lionheart) is my 23rd Great grandfather on my mothers side, and i also found out that he is my 21st great grandfather on my fathers side. I am descended through 2 different children of his. I don’t know if that means you are just doubly related to the person or what?

My great-grandfather placed my grandfather and his siblings into an orphange after their mother died. During this period of time orphanages were not know for their record keeping so I am unable to locate any info on this man. This piece of information is vital to determine where he went after he placed them in adoptive care. Can anyone help me with my genealogical research short comings.
Sorry I had left out some important details about my search. First of all the surname I am researching is Kanaly. The true issue is this my grandfather had 2 siblings a brother and a sister. Of the 3 children only the sister is alive and she was way too young to remember any of the details needed to properly research this. No other family is known other than the 3 siblings. Several times I have made attempts to contact people through the message boards on the Genealogy websites but have never received any response. I can tell you that my Grandfather was named after his father John James Kanaly. John James Kanaly was married to Selma Stine who died at a very young age due to unknown causes. At the time of her death the children were placed in an orphanage to which my grandfather left when he went into the Navy. The only orphanage I have been able to locate was called Odd Fellows but I am not sure where it was located. By the way all of this takes place in the Philly area.

How far have you gone back to find your favorite and/or most interesting ancestor?
My family goes back to 1580 in Germany so far but my favorite would have to be my great great grandfather and his family from 1830-1905 in Missouri.

Okay so on my dads side I have Cherokee Indian, I’m about like 1/8. On my moms side I have chickasaw indian BUT I also have brittish. My great great(…..) grandfather was perigrene white, first white child born in the new world. Okay so anyways, I have dark dark almost black hair and i have light brown eyes and tan skin which turns very tan in the summer. Also I am short with high cheekbones. Are my dark hair, light brown eyes and skin ne from my indian ancestry? Also would being short come from brittish or indian? ( Most of the women on my mothers side are short)
